This is a great job opportunity for a talented and experienced Registered Nurse to join the Wound and Ostomy Care (WOC) team at this leading academic children's hospital in California. The RN in this role provides wound and ostomy care for patients with complex wound needs. They are an expert clinician with leadership skills who manages the care of patients in need of skin, wound, and ostomy healing. This Registered Nurse functions in the roles of clinician, educator, and consultant. This is a full time M-F position, with 80 hours per pay period that offers a competitive benefits plan with salary based on experience.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities of the RN in Wound and Ostomy Care Job:
Obtain histories and perform physicals
Order, perform, and interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests
Create, monitor, and adjust plans of care and treatment
Consult with other healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care
Provide support and education for patients and their families
Monitor quality outcomes and enhance wound care practice through evidence-based policies and procedures, research and implementation of new techniques
Evaluate the effectiveness of new developments, techniques, equipment, and products in the Wound Care specialty, integrating findings into practice, policies, procedures, education, and training

Qualifications

Qualifications for the RN in Wound and Ostomy Care Job:
Current and valid California RN license required before start date
Either a Certified Wound & Ostomy Nurse (CWON), Certified Wound Care Nurse (CWCN) or Certified Ostomy Care Nurse (COCN) is required
Extensive advanced knowledge of nursing principles and clinical practice

Education Requirements

Education Requirements for the RN in Wound and Ostomy Care Job:
A Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is required for this position
