If you are a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner with Cardiac experience, consider this new job opportunity in cardiac pre-anesthesia at this leading academic children's hospital in California. The PNP in Cardiac Pre-Anesthesia is responsible for the perioperative clinical assessment, management, and preparation of pediatric patients prior to cardiac surgery. The PNP in this role works mainly with patients in the outpatient setting, with some inpatient and OR responsibilities. This is a full time, days, position with rotational coverage of Saturdays and possible evenings.
Responsibilities of the PNP Pediatric Cardiac Pre-Anesthesia Job:
Assess, evaluate, and manage pre-anesthesia clinic patients
Perform comprehensive review of systems and chart review to ensure safety of the patient during anesthesia
Screen radiology patients and make appropriate recommendations
Collaborate with anesthesiologists to create appropriate plans of care
Obtain surgical consents as appropriate
Ensure availability of pre-procedure and anesthesia medications, monitors, and supplies
Qualifications for the PNP Pediatric Cardiac Pre-Anesthesia Job:
Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of California
Certification as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) in the State of California
National Board Certification as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) from an agency accredited by the American Board of Nursing Specialties (ABNS)
Current Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA)
Furnishing license issued by the Board of Registered Nursing (BRN) is required if furnishing medications.
Education Requirements for the PNP Pediatric Cardiac Pre-Anesthesia Job:
Master's or doctoral degree in nursing from an accredited college or university
Graduate of an NP program accredited by the National League of Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE)
