| Pediatric Nurse Practitioner
Consider this new job opportunity to become the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in Pediatric Surgery collaborating with the multidisciplinary team that is responsible for providing comprehensive pre-op, surgical, and post-op care to pediatric surgery patients in the inpatient and outpatient settings. The Pediatric Surgery department at this leading academic children's hospital in Pennsylvania is staffed with expert board certified surgeons experienced in common and complex surgical conditions of infants, children, and adolescents. The PNP in Pediatric Surgery position is full time, days, with varied hours.
Responsibilities of the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in Pediatric Surgery Job
Assess patient conditions through histories and physical examinations
Order, perform, and interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests and procedures
Collaborate with the surgical team to establish diagnoses and develop treatment plans
Initiate and followup on appropriate consultations and referrals
Provide continuity of care before, during and following surgery until patient is discharged or moved to a unit in the hospital
Provide education and support for surgical patients and their families
Qualifications for the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in Pediatric Surgery Job
Current license to practice as a CRNP by the Pennsylvania Board of Nurse Examiners
Certificate of Prescriptive Authority
Demonstrated effective consultation skills
Certification as a Surgical Nurse Practitioner is preferred

Master's degree in Nursing with clinical specialization
