Consider this new job opportunity for an experienced Pediatric Nurse Practitioner to join the ENT/Otolaryngology team at this leading academic children's hospital in California. The PNP in this role provides comprehensive care for new and established pediatric patients with disorders of the ear, nose, and throat, as they triage, evaluate, treat, and manage them in outpatient setting. These are low acuity patients who have a wide range of medical and surgical conditions from the common such as ear infections to those who are experiencing hearing loss, breathing problems, or are receiving post-op care management or rehabilitation. This is a full-time position with 5 eight hour or 4 ten hour shifts, no call, and an occasional Saturday clinic shift.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities of the PNP in Outpatient ENT Job:
Obtain histories and perform physical examinations
Order, perform, and interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests and procedures
Formulate, implement, coordinate, monitor, and evaluate plans of care and treatment
Prescribe and monitor appropriate treatments and medications
Provide education and support for patients and their families regarding diagnosis and ongoing care
Request consults and initiate referrals
Collaborate with ENT physicians, audiologists and other members of the healthcare team
Qualifications
Qualifications for the PNP in Outpatient ENT Job:
Current RN license in the State of California
Current Nurse Practitioner license in the State of California
Current BLS/PALS certifications
Current DEA registration in the State of California
Excellent communication skills

Master's degree in Nursing
Graduate of an accredited nurse practitioner program
