| Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Acute Care
Bring your strong skills and clinical expert experience in Pediatric Intensive Care to join the PICU team at this acute care regional medical center that is affiliated with a leading academic children's hospital in Southern California. As the Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in the 54 bed PICU, you will provide intensive and acute care to critically ill or injured children, some of whom are recovering from major surgery, and others with medical conditions that require heart and lung monitoring. With very special needs, these complex patients require 24 hour intensive care, monitoring, and interventions. This is a full time, night shift position that offers competitive compensation and an excellent comprehensive benefits package.
Responsibilities of the AC Pediatric Nurse Practitioner PICU Job:
Assess patient conditions by obtaining histories and performing physical examinations
Order, perform, and interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests and procedures
Develop, implement, monitor, and evaluate plans of care and treatment for PICU patients
Provide education and support for patients and families
Consult with physicians and other healthcare teams to ensure PICU patients receive effective, efficient, and safe high quality care
Qualifications for the AC Pediatric Nurse Practitioner PICU Job:
Current RN license in the State of California
Current Nurse Practitioner license in the State of California
Current DEA registration in the State of California
Current Critical Care Nurse, CCRN, certification issued by AACN
Current PNCB certification
Excellent communication skills
Education Requirements for the AC Pediatric Nurse Practitioner PICU Job:
Master's degree in Nursing
Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program

Experience Requirements for the AC Pediatric Nurse Practitioner PICU Job:
At least one year of experience in direct pediatric intensive patient care
At lease one year of clinical Pediatric Nurse Practitioner experience
PLEASE NOTE: New graduate AC PNPs with extensive PICU RN experience will be considered for this position.
