We have a great opportunity in western Massachusetts' premier healthcare provider.� We are searching for a Psychiatric Physician Assistant to join their Inpatient Behavioral Health team in Westfield, Massachusetts. Position Highlights:• Provide inpatient behavioral health treatment and care coordination to patients on their 20 bed inpatient unit & 6 seat Partial Hospitalization Program at the hospital• Join a multi-disciplinary team of experienced Psychiatrist, behavioral health counselors and social workers.

Responsibilities of the Physician Assistant in Psychiatry and Mental Health Job:
Interview patients and assess their complaints and issues
Screen patients to rule out physical illness
Diagnose patient conditions through examination and evaluation
Provide appropriate counseling and therapies for the patient
Prescribe medications based on laboratory results, diagnostic studies, therapeutic measures, and followup care
Track patient progress and collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers regarding plans of care and treatment
Provide mental health education and ongoing support and followup care for patients and their families
Qualifications for the Physician Assistant in Psychiatry and Mental Health Job:
Current PA license in the State of Massachusetts
Current national Physician Assistant certification
Active DEA registration
Education Requirements for the Physician Assistant in Psychiatry and Mental Health Job:
Graduate of a Master's level accredited educational program for Physician Assistants

Experience Requirements for the Physician Assistant in Psychiatry and Mental Health Job:
