We are currently searching for a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner to join the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) team at this leading academic children's hospital. The Neonatal Nurse Practitioner in this rotating position will work in the main 59 bed, Level IV, NICU, one of the largest and most advanced intensive care units in the nation, soon to be a 69 bed unit that will include 30 private beds. Additionally, the NNP will rotate to another NICU location, a Level III NICU, and attend deliveries. The NICUs at this leading children's hospital are famous for providing specialized, state-of-the-art medical care required by critically ill newborns and premature infants with complex and rare conditions, some of whom may be recovering from highly complex surgery. This is a regular full-time, 12 hour shift, rotating position that includes a comprehensive compensation and benefits program.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities of the Neonatal Nurse Practitioner Job:
Clinical assessment through obtaining histories and performing physical examinations
Ordering and interpreting tests and diagnostic procedures
Diagnosing conditions
Developing and implementing plans of care
Recommending treatments, therapies and procedures
Prescribing appropriate medications
Evaluating progress
Making referrals
Providing consultation and followup
Supporting the Transport Team
Mentoring the professional development of peers and colleagues
Qualifications
Qualifications for the Neonatal Nurse Practitioner Job:
Current RN licensure to practice nursing in the state of Ohio
Advanced practice nurse (PNP/A, NNP, FNP) certification
Certificate to prescribe
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Demonstrated skills in physical assessment, diagnosis, illness management, leadership, consultation, research and teaching
Education Requirements
Education Requirements for the Neonatal Nurse Practitioner Job:
Master's degree in Nursing
Completion of ECMO training
