If you are an Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner with Hospitalist experience, consider this great leadership job opportunity with a leading academic children's hospital in Nebraska. The Lead AC PNP Hospitalist is a clinical expert and resource, responsible for effectively leading and overseeing the 11 member clinical nurse practitioner hospitalist team that manages the care of pediatric patients with conditions ranging from the common to the most acute and complex, some of whom are recovering from neurosurgery or traumatic brain injuries. This is a full time position with day and evening shift responsibility that includes .2 administrative time.
Responsibilities of the Lead AC PNP Hospitalist Job:
Oversee and provide leadership for the clinical Nurse Practitioner Hospitalist team
Develop, coordinate, and oversee orientation and education programs of clinical practice hospitalist team members
Obtain histories and perform physical examinations of pediatric patients
Formulate, implement, monitor, evaluate, and revise plans of care
Order, perform and interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests and procedures
Prescribe therapeutic measures and medications
With the attending physicians, conduct daily inpatient rounds
Provide daily medical plans and updates for patients, families, and multidisciplinary team members
Assess needs and develop and implement educational plans and support for patients and their families
As a leader and role model for the Hospitalist team, monitor ways to improve patient care, clinical practice, and patient outcomes through research, educational pursuits and performance improvement opportunities
Conduct needs assessments, develop, coordinate, implement, and participate in department and hospital-wide educational and professional development opportunities for staff
Develop, coordinate, and oversee NP educational programs, department policies and procedures, and projects that ensure established national standards, trends, research, and compliance relating to patient care, safety and operations are met
Qualifications for the Lead AC PNP Hospitalist Job:
Current, valid, and unrestricted RN license and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse-Nurse Practitioner license in the State of Nebraska
Current and valid national AC PNP certification
Current and valid BLS certification
Current and valid PALS certification
Current and active Federal DEA License
Education Requirements for the Lead AC PNP Hospitalist Job:
MSN or DNP from an accredited college or university
