If you are an experienced Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner with an interest in working both with newborns, going to deliveries (80%), and with children in inpatient services setting (20%), consider this Hospitalist position at a leading hospital in amazing Hawaii! The AC Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Hospitalist administers quality patient care for pediatric patients and their families. They are an expert clinical practitioner in addition to their various roles of educator, interdisciplinary consultant, researcher, and nurse leader. This is a regular full-time day and night position.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities of the Acute Care PNP Hospitalist Job:
Obtain histories and perform physical examinations
Attend deliveries
Order, conduct, and interpret diagnostic and laboratory tests and procedures
Develop, implement and monitor plans of care and treatment in collaboration with the attending physician
Order and administrator therapeutic treatments and medications
Initiate referrals and follow-up on consults to other healthcare providers
Provide support and education for pediatric patients and their families regarding diagnosis, ongoing care, and prescribed medical treatments and medications
Participate in educational, research, and quality improvement initiatives

Qualifications

Qualifications for the Acute Care PNP Hospitalist Job:
Recognition as an APRN by the Hawaii State Board of Nursing
Current BLS and ACLS certifications
Prescriptive authority for non-controlled and controlled substances, depending upon the area where assigned

Master's degree in Nursing
