The AC PNP in this 18 bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit job uses their education, experience, and clinical judgment to provide expert care for PICU patients, aged infant to teens, and their families.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities of the AC PNP in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit
Assess patient conditions by obtaining medical histories and performing physical examinations
Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic and screening tests
Order appropriate treatments, therapies, and procedures
Develop, monitor, and revise plans of care
Initiate referrals and follow up on consults to other healthcare providers
Provide education and support for PICU patients and their families
Develop and provide educational programs for staff
Participate in quality improvement and strategic planning initiatives of the PICU and the organization
Qualifications
Qualifications for the AC PNP in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Job:
Current CRNP license by the Pennsylvania Board of Nurse Examiners
Current national advanced practice nurse certification, required
Acute critical care certification focus, preferred
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Education Requirements
Education requirements for the AC PNP in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Job:
Either (A) Master's Degree in a Critical Care or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Program with a minimum of one year of CRNP experience (which could include clinical rotations or relevant clinical experience in an applicable specialty) required, and three (3) years of critical care experience as a staff nurse, required; OR (B) Master's Degree in a General Nurse Practitioner Program with a minimum of one year of CRNP experience (which could include clinical rotations or relevant clinical experience in an applicable specialty) and five (5) years of critical care experience as a staff nurse
