Consider this exciting job opportunity for a Nurse Practitioner with a background in Hematology Oncology to join the multidisciplinary health care team that provides comprehensive and specialized Hematology Oncology care to meet the unique needs of adult patients with cancer. The Nurse Practitioner in this role provides a wide range of Hematology Oncology patient services for adults being treated for cancer in their two floor cancer care unit. Some are receiving chemotherapy or radiation while others are experiencing acute exacerbations of chronic disease or complications such as fever and neutropenia or excessive nausea. This is a full time position with variable shifts that includes a very generous compensation and benefits program with continuing education allowance, tuition reimbursement, relocation, and DEA license reimbursement if required by the job.
Responsibilities of the Nurse Practitioner in Hematology Oncology Job:
Assess patient conditions through interviews, histories, physical examinations, and diagnostic studies
Order, perform, and interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests and procedures
Create plans of care and treatment
Write prescriptions based on laboratory results, diagnostic studies, therapeutic measures and followup care
Consult with other physicians and healthcare providers
Conduct or participate in multidisciplinary rounds
Provide education and support for patients and their families
Qualifications for the Nurse Practitioner in Hematology Oncology Job:
Current license to practice as a CRNP by Pennsylvania Board of Nurse Examiners
Certification as an NP in Hematology Oncology is preferred
Current BLS certification
Effective consultation skills are a must!
Education Requirements for the Nurse Practitioner in Hematology Oncology Job:
Master's degree in Nursing
