This is a great job opportunity for an experienced Pediatric Nurse Practitioner to join the Hematology Oncology team at this leading academic children's hospital in Chicago assessing, implementing, providing, and evaluating patient care for children with cancer, diseases of the blood, and immunodeficiency disorders. This is a regular, full time, day and night shift position.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities of the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in Inpatient Hematology Oncology Job:
Obtain patient histories and perform physical examinations
Order, perform and interpret diagnostic and therapeutic tests and procedures
Prescribe pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions
Perform therapeutic or corrective measures to treat conditions
Provide education and support for patients and their families
Collaborate with the oncology and healthcare teams to ensure the best possible care and service
Participate in academic activities and research program design, implementation, and interpretation
Support the nursing and leadership staffs to promote the advancement of the nursing profession

Qualifications

Qualifications for the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in Inpatient Hematology Oncology Job:
Current RN licensure in the State of Illinois
Current BLS and PALS certifications
National Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Certification
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

Education Requirements

Education Requirements for the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in Inpatient Hematology Oncology Job:
MSN or higher from an accredited school of nursing
