Consider this excellent job opportunity for an Acute Care-certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner to assume leadership and management responsibilities in the Cardiac ICU and Cardiac Care Unit of this leading academic children's hospital in Nebraska. The AC PNP in this role is a clinical expert and resource with responsibility for the clinical and administrative activities of the CICU and CCU, coordinating services across the departments. They direct nursing practice, coordinate patient service delivery and manage the work environment for advanced practice nurses in the 32 bed units where comprehensive cardiac care is provided for acutely ill cardiac patients, some of whom are recovering from heart surgery or transplant. Their new state-of-the-art cardiac center will open in 2022, as this leading pediatric hospital continues to expand to meet the growing healthcare needs of the region. This is a full time position.
Responsibilities of the Advanced Practice AC PNP Leader Job:
Direct, manage, and provide leadership for the clinical Nurse Practitioner teams in the CICU and CCU
Ensure timely creation and communication of work assignments, schedules, procedures
Manage CICU and CCU department recruiting and retention of advanced practice staff, including interviewing, hiring, providing training and professional development opportunities, monitoring and evaluating work performance and recommending promotions, transfers, salary increases or other personnel actions
Assess needs and develop and implement educational plans and support for cardiac patients and their families
Monitor ways to improve patient care, clinical practice, and patient outcomes through research, educational pursuits and performance improvement opportunities for advanced practice staff
Develop, coordinate, and oversee NP educational programs, department policies and procedures, and projects that ensure established national standards, trends, research, and compliance relating to patient care, safety and operations are met
Qualifications for the Advanced Practice AC PNP Leader Job:
Current, valid, and unrestricted RN license and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse-Nurse Practitioner license in the State of Nebraska
Current and valid national AC PNP certification
Current and valid BLS and PALS certifications
Current and active Federal DEA License
Education Requirements for the Advanced Practice AC PNP Leader Job:
MSN or DNP from an accredited college or university
