Consider this great job opportunity to assume leadership and management responsibilities in the Level IV 130 bed Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of this leading academic children's hospital in Ohio as well as over local hospital NICUs ranging from Level I-III and delivery services. The Lead APP in this role is an expert clinician and resource with responsibilities over clinical and administrative operations of a busy Level III or IV NICU and delivery service. This is a full time, benefits eligible position.


Responsibilities of the Operations Lead APP NICU Job:
Direct, manage, and provide operational leadership for NNP staff and their functions, and oversee clinical leads to help develop processes and procedures
Manage NNP department recruitment and retention functions including interviewing and hiring staff, providing training and professional development opportunities, and recommending promotions, transfers, merit salary increases and other personnel actions
Provide leadership through orientation, coaching, counseling, mentoring, education, and research
Monitor and evaluate ways to improve patient care, clinical practice, and patient outcomes through research, educational pursuits, and performance improvement opportunities for advanced practice staff
Assess outcomes of NNP care throughout the organization
Support day-to-day operations through participation in budgeting and implementing new procedures and systems
Ensure that state and federal agency regulatory requirements are met
Collaborate with the Director of Advanced Practice to create, support, and lead initiatives that improve the work environment of NNPs throughout the department and the organization
Participate in organizational meetings, committees, and quality improvement initiatives


Qualifications for the Operations Lead APP NICU Job:
Current RN license in the State of Ohio
Certification as an advanced practice nurse appropriate to meet requirements of the Nurse Practitioner position (e.g., PNP/A, NNP, FNP)
Certificate of Authority to practice as an advanced practice nurse in the State of Ohio
Certificate to Prescribe or Certificate to Prescribe externship in the State of Ohio
Current BLS, PALS, and NALS certifications
Demonstrated clinical skills and competence in neonatal intensive care nursing
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal communication skills, teaching ability, and an advanced level of critical thinking and decision-making skills

Education Requirements

Master's or Doctorate Degree in Nursing
