A member of the multidisciplinary team, the Pediatric Physician Assistant with experience in Hematology Oncology provides comprehensive and specialized care that meets the unique needs of infants, children and adolescents with pediatric cancer and diseases of the blood, including leukemia, brain tumors, blood related diseases and those who are undergoing bone marrow transplant.

Responsibilities or the Pediatric Physician Assistant job:
Perform physical assessment through patient histories and physical examinations
Order, perform and interpret diagnostic and laboratory tests
Order and assist with appropriate treatments, therapies, and complex procedures
Evaluate patients prior to and following procedures
Collaborate with other healthcare teams to ensure optimum outcome for Hem/Onc patients
Provide patient and family support and education
Participate in department quality initiatives and conferences
Qualifications or the Pediatric Physician Assistant job:
Unrestricted Physician Assistant (PA-C) license in the State of Florida
Current DEA controlled substance registration
Current BLS and PALS certifications
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
