90502 - Your Physician Assistant experience in Cardiac Surgery makes you a great candidate to join the surgical team of this leading academic children's hospital delivering comprehensive quality care for infants, children and adolescents who are undergoing surgery to correct congenital and acquired heart conditions. The Physician Assistant with pediatric surgery experience is a strong candidate for this Cardiothoracic Surgery role. This is a full time position that includes the Physician Assistant taking call every third night for the Pediatric Cardiothoracic Surgery team.
Verify admission histories, physicals, and preoperative consents of CT Surgery patients
Perform Surgical First Assist duties (in collaboration with the attending physician) during the entire intraoperative course
Provide support and education to patients and their families
Followup on consults to other healthcare providers
Provide leadership to the surgical team
Facilitate staff development and education
Graduate of a Master's level educational program for Physician Assistants, required
Licensed as a Physician Assistant (PA-C) in the State of Texas, required
Current CPR, BLS, and PALS certifications, required
Previous pediatric cardiothoracic surgery/critical care experience, preferred
