The Pediatric Physician Assistant in Neurosurgery assists board-certified neurosurgeons as they perform leading edge, technologically advanced procedures for pediatric patients with common to complex neurological conditions and diseases that require surgery. This position reports to and is under the supervision of the attending physician. Responsibilities for the Pediatric Physician Assistant Job:
Provide competent first assist surgical services in the Neurosurgery setting
Obtain pre-operative histories and perform physical examinations
Write admitting, pre-op, post-op and procedure orders for patient care
Evaluate and manage patients
Make hospital rounds with physicians
Perform after hours on-call duties for calls from patients and nursing personnel
Qualifications for the Pediatric Physician Assistant Job:
Current certification by the National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants
Clear and active Physician Assistant license in the State of Florida
Current BCLS, PALS and ACLS certifications
