90493 - If you are looking for a Pediatric Physician Assistant job and you have experience in cardiothoracic surgery, consider joining the multidisciplinary team at this leading academic children's hospital that cares for pediatric patients who have undergone surgery to correct congenital and acquired heart conditions. The Physician Assistant in this job is responsible for the delivery of comprehensive, quality, post-operative patient care for pediatric heart surgery patients in the cardiac and intermediate care units. This is a weekend position, Friday through Monday (40 hours per week), that does not include surgical responsibility in the OR.
Responsibilities of the Physician Assistant Job:
Manage the care of complex and critically ill infants and children recovering from heart surgery
Order and interpret diagnostic and therapeutic procedures and interventions
Make referral and consultation requests as appropriate
Provide education and support for patients and families
Provide compassionate, high quality care leading to outstanding patient outcomes
Manage the discharge process and provide discharge education for patients and families
Qualifications of the Physician Assistant Job:
Graduate of a Master's level accredited educational program for Physician Assistants, required
Current Physician Assistant (PA-C) license in Pennsylvania, required
Current National Physician Assistant certification in Pennsylvania or in another State with reciprocity and licensure to practice in Pennsylvania, required
Physician Assistant Cardiology experience, required, Pediatrics preferred.
