90011 - This leading academic children's hospital medical center has a great opportunity for a Pediatric Clinical Nurse Specialist to join their Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. In collaboration with the psychiatric team, the Pediatric Clinical Nurse Specialist in Inpatient Psychiatry addresses a wide range of mental health needs, working to diagnose, treat and prevent emotional and behavioral problems for patients from infancy through age 18 with the goal of helping them manage their conditions and live a full life. Their team of psychiatrists, psychologists, and social workers is dedicated to improving child health in their family-centered care environment. Their inpatient program includes 85 beds at three locations. Responsibilities for the Pediatric Clinical Nurse Specialist:
Demonstrate skills in physical assessment, diagnosis, well-child care, management of illness, leadership, consultation, research, and teaching
Provide age and developmentally appropriate, direct care from medical and psychological perspectives that includes data collection and documentation, development and monitoring of plans of care, initiation, and interpretation of laboratory tests and diagnostic procedures, prescribing and managing medication and development of outcomes as measurable goals
Act as an educator, a role model and a mentor who is a resource for other departments in the hospital and contributes to department and organization continuous performance and quality improvement projects
Qualifications for Pediatric Clinical Nurse Specialist:
Clinical Nurse Specialist with dual certification in psychiatry to treat both children/adolescents and adults
Certificate to prescribe as applicable
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
