The Clinical Nurse Specialist in this role provides clinical expertise, leadership, education, and program development for the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit staff. Responsibilities of the Clinical Nurse Specialist:
Assess health needs of CICU patients
Provide direct and indirect care, support and education for patients and their families
Mentor staff and promote professional development
Collaborate and consult with healthcare leaders to develop criteria for patient care
Evaluate nursing interventions to achieve optimal nursing practice outcomes
Work to advance nursing practice by introducing nursing innovations and refining techniques and procedures
Develop and implement training, education and process changes to ensure patient care quality and safety
Facilitate problem solving and decision-making to influence the development, implementation and evaluation of patients and unit/department goals
Qualifications for the Clinical Nurse Specialist:
Current and active RN license in the State of Washington
National Board Certification as a Pediatric Clinical Nurse Specialist
BLS and PALS certifications
Previous CNS experience, preferred
Ideal candidates will have at least 2 years of Pediatric Cardiac
