Responsibilities of the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Emergency Room Job
Assess, diagnose, and manage care of patients in the emergency room
Order, conduct, and interpret appropriate diagnostic and laboratory tests
Prescribe appropriate medications and treatments
Stabilize, treat, and discharge less acute ill or injured children; arrange for transfer of other patients to a critical care unit and Initiate referrals
Provide education and support for patients and their families
Provide consultant services for other healthcare providers
Mentor and provide professional development opportunities for Nurse Practitioner colleagues
Qualifications for the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Emergency Room Job
Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program, required
Current California Registered Nurse license, required
Current Nurse Practitioner certification, required
Current BCLS/PALS National NP certification, required
Two Years of Nurse Practitioner experience, required
Minimum of three years of pediatric experience, preferred
