| Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Acute Care
90533 - There is a very exciting job opportunity at this leading academic children's hospital for an Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in their 35 bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). If you are experienced in pediatric intensive care nursing, consider joining the team that provides family-centered care for infants, children and adolescents who are injured or critically ill with a wide range of acute or chronic conditions that require intensive care and monitoring.
Responsibilities of the AC Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in the PICU Job
Assess patient conditions through medical histories, physical examinations, and collecting pertinent data
Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic and laboratory tests, therapies and procedures
Develop, prioritize, evaluate, and modify plans of care
Prescribe appropriate pharmacologic/non-pharmacological agents, and monitor and evaluate their effects
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and research
Provide patient and family support and education
Educate PICU staff to provide a healthy, safe, and secure work environment
Participate in the professional development of peers and colleagues
Provide consultation services and make appropriate referrals
Qualifications for the AC Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in the PICU Job
Current license to practice nursing in the State of Ohio, required
Certification as an advanced practice nurse appropriate to meet the requirements of the Nurse Practitioner position (e.g., PNP/A, NNP, FNP), required
Acute care certification, required
Certificate to prescribe as applicable, required
Minimum of two years of nurse practitioner pediatric nursing experience, required
AC PNP PICU experience, highly preferred
PLEASE NOTE: New graduates with strong PICU experience at a children's hospital will be considered for this position.
