| Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Acute Care
90179 - Here is a great opportunity at a leading academic children's hospital for an Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at their West campus community hospital location. In collaboration with a critical care attending physician and a strong PICU team, the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner provides comprehensive medical care for critically ill and seriously injured children with a variety of acute and chronic conditions who require 24 hour monitoring in their 12 bed state of the art PICU.
Obtain patient histories
Perform physical examinations and other procedures
Collect and document data
Order, perform and interpret diagnostic tests and procedures
Develop, monitor and revise plans of care
Provide education and support for patients and families regarding diagnosis, ongoing care and prescribed medical treatments and medications
Collaborate and consult with physicians and other healthcare providers
Current RN license (or eligible) in the State of Texas, required
Advanced nurse practitioner license in the State of Texas, required
Current PALS certification, required
Acute care pediatric nurse practitioner certification, required
Two years of recent PNP PICU experience, required
This position is open to new PNP graduates with strong RN experience in the PICU setting.
