| Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Acute Care
90118 - We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit of this leading academic children's hospital in the Pacific Northwest, working with babies, children, teens and young adults with acquired or congenital cardiac conditions. The PNP in this cardiac role directs or participates in the clinical management of continuing care for patients in the unit, one that?s specifically dedicated to pediatric cardiac intensive care.
Responsibilities of the AC PNP in the Cardiovascular ICU Job<br>Obtain histories and perform physical examinations<br>Order, perform, and interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests<br>Prescribe medications<br>Develop, implement, and monitor treatment plans<br>Provide education and support for patients, families and the healthcare team<br>Consult with other healthcare teams to ensure cardiac patients receive effective, efficient, and safe high quality care leading to desired outcomes<br>Contribute to continuous performance and quality improvement projects for the department and the organization<br>Participate in research efforts<br>Mentor new medical staff
Qualifications for the AC PNP in the Cardiovascular ICU Job<br>MSN or higher with a pediatric nurse practitioner concentration, required<br>Completion of a pediatric acute care nurse practitioner program OR at least one year of current work experience in a pediatric ICU setting as a PNP, required<br>One year of work experience in pediatric critical care, required<br>Active, unencumbered RN and ARNP licensures in the State of Washington, required<br>Current PALS certification, required<br>Current national certification as a pediatric nurse practitioner, required<br>Active Drug Enforcement Authority registration, required<br>Completion of a formal graduate program with a concentration in pediatric acute or critical care, preferred<br>National certification as a pediatric acute care nurse practitioner, preferred<br>One year of experience as a pediatric nurse practitioner in a pediatric critical care unit, preferred<br>Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, required
