90498 - If you are a Nurse Practitioner with Psychiatric training, experience and clinical expertise in working with adult Substance Abuse patients, consider joining the Department of Psychiatry Outpatient Clinic team of this leading academic medical center in Pennsylvania. Nurse Practitioners provide age and developmentally appropriate comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment tailored for each unique adult patient with a substance abuse disorder. The NP in this role supports these adult patients in their treatment and recovery with the goal of managing their disorders and improving their quality of life.
Obtain patient histories
Conduct initial substance abuse evaluations and screenings
Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests and procedures
Collect data and documentation
Develop, monitor, and regulate plans of treatment
Prescribe and monitor medications
Provide ongoing outpatient treatment for substance abuse patients and their families, helping them adjust to life without drugs once rehabilitation is complete
PLEASE NOTE: Hours for this position are 8 am to 5 pm, Tuesday - Saturday.
Two years of work as a CRNP, required
Current CRNP license in Pennsylvania, required
Demonstrated effective consultation skills, required
Prescriptive Authority in Pennsylvania, required
NP certification in Psychiatry/Substance Abuse treatment, preferred
HIV Certification a definite plus, and willing to obtain Hepatitis C Certification, preferred
Fluent in Spanish, preferred
Experience working with Substance Abuse and Addiction disorders, preferred
Family Nurse Practitioner degree, preferred
Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, preferred
