90177 - Consider this exciting opportunity to join the neonatal team at this leading academic children's hospital as the Neonatal Nurse Practitioner in their 84 bed, Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Caring for critically ill newborns and premature infants in the NICU, the experienced Neonatal Nurse Practitioner is a clinical expert with responsibility for managing tiny high risk patients in the Neonatal Intensive Care setting.
Provide clinical assessment and evaluation of neonatal patients
Perform physical examinations
Order, perform and evaluate laboratory and diagnostic tests and procedures
Develop and implement plans of care
Recommend treatments and prescribe medications
Provide education and support to patient families
Manage staff education
Consult with other healthcare team providers
MSN and completion of Neonatal Nurse Practitioner curriculum, required
Three years of RN experience in a NICU setting, required
One year of Neonatal Nurse Practitioner NICU experience, preferred
Bilingual in English and Spanish, desirable
Active California RN license and California NNP certificates, required, pending or in process acceptable
National NNP certification within twelve months of hire, required
Current ANCC, AANP, PNCB and NCC certifications, preferred
