90022 - Consider joining the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) team at this leading academic children's hospital as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner providing care for critically ill and premature newborns. This state-of-the-art Level IV NICU has 36 beds and admits over 300 patients annually, providing the highest level of family-centered care for their tiny patients and their families. The NNP in this role uses their special training in neonatal nursing and critical care to respond to patient needs and provide comprehensive care for infants with acute or complex medical or surgical conditions. In this rapidly changing, fast-paced environment, the NNP performs admission histories and physicals, creates plans of care and is responsible for the day-to-day management of patients throughout the entire patient course in collaboration with the attending physician. They initiate referrals and follow up on consults to other healthcare providers.
MSN, required; current RN license (or eligible) in the State of Texas, required;
Current recognition as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (or eligible) by the Texas State Board of Nurse Examiners, required;
Current CPR, BLS and NRP certifications, required;
2-3 years of experience as an RN in a Level III-IV NICU, required;
Previous NNP experience in a Level III NICU, preferred.
