90193 - We have an exciting new opportunity for an experienced Neonatal Nurse Practitioner to join the NICU team that provides state-of-the-art comprehensive care for tiny newborns at this leading academic children's hospital in the Western region of the U.S. In collaboration with attending neonatologists, the Neonatal Nurse Practitioner, or NNP, in the 58 bed Neonatal Intensive Care Unit manages the Level III medical care of critically ill, premature or low birth weight neonates with acute and chronic conditions. Care provided includes ECMO, nitric oxide and high frequency ventilation.

Responsibilities for the Neonatal Nurse Practitioner job:
Conduct clinical assessment of NICU patients
Order, conduct, and interpret appropriate diagnostic and laboratory tests
Develop plans of care
Prescribe medications, treatments and non-pharmacologic therapies
Work autonomously, and collaborate with a variety of NICU subspecialty and interdisciplinary staff to manage NICU patients in an intensive care setting
Provide family and staff education and support
Serve as a healthcare resource, interdisciplinary consultant and patient advocate
This is a full time, days position that includes the main NICU as well as the neonatal network NICUs
Qualifications for the Neonatal Nurse Practitioner job:
Current RN license in the State of California
