90381 - This is a great opportunity for an experienced Family Nurse Practitioner to join the Pediatric Interventional Cardiology Department of this leading academic children's hospital on the West Coast, providing direct care for pediatric patients who are undergoing or have recently undergone non-surgical radiological procedures for diagnosis and treatment of congenital or acquired heart conditions. The Family Nurse Practitioner in Pediatric Interventional Cardiology, in collaboration with the supervising physician, performs overlapping medical and surgical procedures for cardiology patients with critical acuity and participates in coverage for the cardiology inpatient unit.
Provide advanced nursing pre- and post-procedure recovery care, clinical management and monitoring
Provide education and support for Pediatric Interventional Cardiology patients and their families
Serve as the liaison and resource for multidisciplinary health care team members, patients, and families
Utilize interpersonal skills to maximize excellence in customer service, safe patient care and professionalism
Contribute to a positive work environment of caring and cooperation in the Cardiology unit
Lead, supervise, teach and collaborate with other healthcare team members
Utilize expertise in the delivery of whole person care
MSN and completion of the FNP curriculum, required
Three (3) years of RN experience in an acute care setting, required
Current BLS and ACLS certifications, required
One year of experience in pediatric cardiology, preferred
Bilingual in English and Spanish, preferred
Current, active RN and Nurse Practitioner certificates in the State of California, required. Certification that is pending or in process is acceptable.
