90370 - The experienced Clinical Nurse Educator with a background in hospital education is a strong candidate for this position as the Clinical Educator in the adult Intensive Care Unit of this Northern California hospital where adult patients receive specialized care. The Clinical Educator in the ICU is a leader and clinical expert who assesses clinical educational needs and requirements of professional nurses in the Intensive Care unit. Utilizing the principles of adult learning, they are an educator and mentor who develops and delivers educational programs for patients, families and staff while promoting an environment of continuous learning within the organization.
Provide clinical and educational leadership in the Intensive Care Unit
Evaluate current programs and educational offerings
Identify the clinical educational needs and requirements of the hospital Intensive Care nursing staff to ensure that education and training are current and patient outcome goals are met
Design and implement nursing education curriculum and programs to ensure the delivery of quality patient care
Evaluate the effectiveness of education programs on quality outcomes, educational needs and current nursing practice
Consult with other health care teams regarding their educational programs
MSN from an accredited school of nursing, required
Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of California, required
Three years of adult intensive care nursing experience, required
Current BLS certification, required
Current ACLS and pediatric ALS certifications, preferred
Knowledge and application of adult learning theory, required
Demonstrated competence in adult education and the teaching/learning process
Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, required
Strong education background and experience, required
