| Clinical Nurse Specialist
90201 - Consider joining this leading academic children's hospital as the Clinical Nurse Specialist in their Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit. The Clinical Nurse Specialist in this role provides clinical expertise, leadership, education, and program development for the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit staff. Critically ill patients with a wide range of congenital and acquired heart conditions, including open heart surgery and transplant patients, receive state-of-the-art medical and surgical intervention in this 31 bed CICU.
Assess health needs of CICU patients
Provide direct and indirect care, support and education for patients and their families
Mentor staff and promote professional development
Collaborate and consult with healthcare leaders to develop criteria for patient care
Evaluate nursing interventions to achieve optimal nursing practice outcomes
Work to advance nursing practice by introducing nursing innovations and refining techniques and procedures
Develop and implement training, education and process changes to ensure patient care quality and safety
Facilitate problem solving and decision-making to influence the development, implementation and evaluation of patients and unit/department goals
Master's or Doctorate in Nursing, required
Current and active RN license in the State of Washington, required
Minimum of three years of pediatric nursing experience, required
National Board Certification as a Pediatric Clinical Nurse Specialist, required
BLS and PALS certifications, required
Previous CNS experience, preferred
Ideal candidates will have at least 2 years of Pediatric Cardiac ICU RN experience including expertise with infants with congenital heart issues.
