90562 - Consider a job with this leading hospital on the West coast of the U.S. as the Clinical Nurse Specialist in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. This is a great opportunity for you to bring your knowledge, skills and experience as a clinical leader to join the NICU team that provides direct patient care to critically ill newborns and premature infants with complex care needs at this new 321 bed hospital that opened in April of 2017. This is a full time, regular, Monday - Friday job with variable shifts that includes 5% travel time to other locations.
This new hospital has incorporated the most advanced health care state-of-the-art technology available to ensure the safe and effective care of its patients. It has attained LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification awarded for planning, design, and construction of buildings that will use resources efficiently and be environmentally responsible once completed.

Responsibilities of the Clinical Nurse Specialist NICU Job:
Obtain patient histories and perform physical examinations to asses NICU patient care needs
Develop, implement, monitor, and evaluate plans of care for high risk infants
Design education program for NICU families and assist staff with program implementation
Assist in interviewing, reviewing and evaluating staff
Evaluate patient care quality and identify patient care needs of staff
Ensure patient care is in compliance with Federal, State, and Local regulatory bodies
Provide career coaching, counseling, and mentoring of NICU staff
Develop educational and professional development programs for nursing staff
Provide consultation services to other health care providers
Lead project teams and participate in research
Qualifications for the Clinical Nurse Specialist NICU Job
Clinical Nurse Specialist certification in neonatology in California, required
Current BLS certification
Demonstrated clinical expertise in neonatology
