90373 - The Clinical Nurse Specialist with a background in Oncology is a strong candidate for this position in the Oncology Unit of this Northern California hospital where adult patients with cancer receive specialized care and treatment. The CNS in the Oncology Unit is a leader and clinical expert who is skilled in assessing and treating patients to ensure the best possible outcome for them. They are an educator and mentor who develops and delivers educational programs for patients, families and staff while promoting an environment of continuous learning within the organization.
Collaborate with staff to assess patient care needs for complex and high risk patients
Develop, implement, monitor and evaluate plans of care
Design educational programs for patients and families, and assist staff in program implementation
Advocate for the patients and liaison with the patients, families and physicians
Assess staff knowledge and identify competency-based educational needs of staff members
Design and implement new programs that support advanced practice nursing trends
Participate in research and make recommendations for changing standards of care based on research findings
Assist in interviewing, reviewing, and evaluating staff
Provide career coaching, counseling, and mentoring
MSN from an accredited school of nursing, required
Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of California, required
Minimum of 3 years of recent adult oncology care experience, required
CNS certification by the California Board of Registered Nursing, required
Current BLS certification, required
CNS experience, preferred
ACLS or PALS certification, preferred
Strong education background, required
