90554 - Consider a job with one of this country's leading academic children's hospitals as the Advanced Practice Leader in their Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit. Children cared for in the 21 bed CVICU receive critical care for their cardiac conditions. Many have undergone heart surgery, while others require mechanical cardiac support, have undergone heart transplants, are between surgeries, or are being treated for infection.
Responsibilities of the Advanced Practice Leader in the CVICU Job
Provide, direct, facilitate, and coordinate patient care services in the CVICU
Monitor productivity to assure staffing and resources are aligned with patient care needs
Maintain clinical competency by ensuring the delivery of safe, quality and efficient CVICU care
Collaborate with other members of the advanced practice team to achieve desired clinical outcomes
As a role model and mentor, coach, counsel, and provide advanced practice development to ensure nursing excellence and department goals are met
Act as the liaison between physicians, advanced practice staff, patients, families, and ancillary departments
Qualifications for the Advanced Practice Leader in the CVICU Job
Acute care advanced practice recognition from the Texas Board of Nursing, required
Current RN license in the State of Texas, required
Two years of CVICU nursing experience, required
Progressive leadership and management skills, required
Certification in cardiac care or nursing leadership, or within 1 year of hire, required
Knowledge of quality improvement concepts, required
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, required
