90197 - We currently have several opportunities for this Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner GI Hospitalist front line provider position that includes three 13 hour shifts in a 24//7 coverage department. The AC PNP in this role also covers general pediatrics patient overflow as needed. This Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Hospitalist position in the Division of Gastroenterology at this leading academic children's hospital provides comprehensive, high-level multidisciplinary inpatient GI care and services for their pediatric patients with illnesses of the gastrointestinal system. Diagnostics include endoscopy, manometry, liver biopsy, hydrogen breath test, resting energy expenditures, DEXA bone density measurements and pancreatic function testing with follow-up treatment and care.
Responsibilities for the Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner GI Hospitalist Job:
Obtain patient histories
Perform physical examinations
Order, perform and interpret diagnostic tests and procedures
Assess the complex acute, critical and chronically ill patient for urgent and emergent conditions
Use assessment data to formulate plans of care
Manage plan of care evaluating, modifying and documenting patient response to therapy
Analyze indications, contraindications, risk of complications and cost benefits of therapeutic interventions
Provide education and support for patients and families, nursing staff, and healthcare providers
Provide consultant services for multidisciplinary health care team members
Qualifications for the Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner GI Hospitalist Job:
Current RN license in Pennsylvania
Current APRN license in Pennsylvania
