| Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Acute Care
90515 - This is a great job with the cardiology team at this leading academic children's hospital in the Midwest as the Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit caring for pediatric patients with congenital or acquired cardiology conditions, many of whom are recovering from cardiology or cardiovascular surgery. The Acute Care PNP job in the 44 bed CVICU provides comprehensive individualized care for pediatric patients in this unit with the most advanced cardiac care technology available.
Responsibilities of the Acute Care PNP in the CVICU:
Obtain patient histories and perform physical examinations
Order, perform and interpret diagnostic and therapeutic tests and procedures
Prescribe pharmacologic and non pharmacologic interventions
Perform therapeutic or corrective measures to treat illness and improve health condition
Provide education and support for patients and their families
Collaborate with the cardiology and healthcare teams to ensure best possible care and service
Participate in research program design, implementation and interpretation
Qualifications of the Acute Care PNP in the CVICU:
MSN or higher from an accredited school of nursing, required
Certification as an Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, required
Minimum of two years of nursing experience required, pediatric experience, preferred
APN licensure in the State of Illinois, required
BLS and PALS certification, required
Excellent interpersonal and basic computer skills, required
Strong verbal and written communication skills, required
