90513 - If you are looking for an acute care-certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner job and have CVICU experience, consider joining the Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit team at this leading academic children's hospital. In consultation with and under the direct supervision of the attending physician, the CVICU Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in this fast paced, critical care setting provides coverage for critically ill children focused on cardiac transplant and surgery.
Responsibilities of the Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner:
Obtain comprehensive histories and perform physical examinations
Order, perform and review appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures
Create, implement, and monitor medical or surgical plans of care based on assessment and diagnosis
Initiate and change orders for tests and patient care based on the patient's condition
Identify and document changes or abnormal findings in patient condition using appropriate problem solving skills and experience
Provide education and support for CVICU patients and their families
Be an educational resource for other members of the healthcare team
Participate in departmental education opportunities and hospital-wide and departmental committees
Actively participate in APP administrative meetings regarding the practice and development of critical care
Actively pursue educational opportunities for ongoing professional growth and development
Qualifications of the Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner:
Acute care advanced practice recognition from the Texas Board of Nursing, required
Current RN license (or eligible) from the Texas Board of Nursing, required
Current BLS and PALS certifications, required
Pediatric cardiac experience, required
